Treatment Sessions
Treatment sessions vary greatly depending on the child’s age and the nature of their condition. It may involve some specific exercises, mobilisation techniques or activities directed through play.
Discussion will take place with the child, their family and the physiotherapist in order to establish factors that will maximise the benefits of treatment, including location, time of day, duration of sessions, activities and persons to be present during sessions. Specific aims of treatment will also be discussed.
A variety of handling techniques will be used by the physiotherapist during the sessions and use made of furniture and therapeutic equipment where appropriate. Your child may also be provided with an individualised exercise programme.
